Lauren joined Helen Lowe Ltd in 2006 as CA Trainee after graduating from Heriot Watt University. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 and became a Partner within the practice in 2019.
Lauren enjoys working with her clients to gain an understanding of their accounting and taxation needs and ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
Outside of work Lauren loves holidaying with her husband and two small children. She has recently tried cold water therapy as a way to unwind after a busy day in the office.

Louise Tobin
CA

Louise grew up in Speyside before moving to Edinburgh in 2002 to study for a MA in Accountancy and Finance at Herriot Watt University. After graduating in 2006 Louise began her Chartered Accountancy training with Helen Lowe Ltd and qualified as a CA in 2010. In 2019 Louise was delighted to become a Partner in the Practice.
Having worked all of her career with Helen Lowe Ltd, Louise has an excellent understanding of her clients. She enjoys getting to know their individual needs and supporting them with their business and tax affairs.
Outside of work Louise enjoys music, going to the theatre and spending time with her family, especially her little boy, Matthew.

Richard Cursiter ACCA
(Qualified Accountant)
Richard joined Helen Lowe Ltd in 2006 and is ACCA qualified. He completed his exams in June 2010 and received his ACCA membership in 2012.
He attended Edinburgh University where he got a 2:1 in Accounting and Business Studies.
Outside of work, Richards enjoys spending time entertaining young family, visiting the gym and having been a keen player in his younger days, following Scottish rugby. As the eldest of nine Richard has an increasing number of nieces and nephews and enjoys family gatherings.
He also admits to a weakness for pizza and ice cream.

Catriona Scrimgeour
(Senior Accountant)
Catriona joined Helen Lowe Ltd in 2018, initially as maternity cover which then became a permanent role. Catriona’s current business focus is on business accounts, VAT and personal and business tax. She has detailed knowledge of XERO, Sage, Iris and other digital accounting and tax software.
She has a wealth of experience both in practice and working for charities in Edinburgh.
When Catriona is not at work she is very involved with Scouts and also enjoys reading and walking her two labradors (sometimes at the same time).

Marion-Louise McQueenie
(Accountant)
Marion-Louise has been with Helen Lowe Ltd since 2013. Marion-Louise graduated from Aberdeen University with an MA(Hons) in Economics and Accountancy in 1990. She completed her training in London with one of the then ‘Big Six’ and then moved back to her hometown of Edinburgh in 1993. She has 35 years of experience working in practice.
Marion-Louise’s current business focus is on business accounts, VAT and personal and business tax. She also has vast experience of payroll. Marion-Louise has detailed knowledge of XERO, Sage, Iris and other digital accounting and tax software.
Outside of work her interests include gardening, building Lego, reading Italian crime fiction, visiting art galleries and spending time with her golden retriever, Lucy.

Chris Main
(Payroll Administrator)
Chris has been processing payroll since 2005, bringing that experience to the team when he joined Helen Lowe Ltd in 2023.
In his spare time, he likes to spend time with friends and family. He enjoys watching football and since that inner child never grew up, loves watching and going to WWE. He also enjoys relaxing by watching movies at the cinema and finds building Lego sets to be a therapeutic way to wind down… until you get to that one piece that you just cannot find.

Moira Liddle
(Bookkeeper and
Accounts Assistant)
Moira started with Helen Lowe Ltd in October 2023 in the role of Bookkeeper and Accounts Assistant and currently covers various clients’ monthly bookkeeping, along with VAT, CIS, self-assessment tax returns and accounts preparation.
Although qualified by experience after many years’ completing bookkeeping, accounts and payroll in various settings and across a range of industries, Moira is currently working towards her formal bookkeeping qualification through AAT.
Outside of work, Moira enjoys spending time with friends and family and getting out and about exploring new places. She is also just as happy with a good box set to binge watch and a nice bottle of (red) wine…when her teenage daughter isn’t using her as a taxi service!
